- MY STORY -
My name is Maxime Vanlande, but everyone calls me Max. I have been deaf since birth due to very severe meningitis. My father noticed that something was wrong when, one day, as I was falling asleep in my crib, he slammed the door very loudly as he left my bedroom. Thinking that I was going to cry, he was surprised to see me continue sleeping. He clapped his hands to see if I had any reaction, but there was none.
A few weeks later, I was crying constantly, and my father, exhausted, consulted several doctors. They all said it was normal for a baby, but he finally decided to take me to the hospital. A doctor then discovered that I had highly contagious meningitis. I was less than a year old, and according to the doctors, I was the youngest in France to have this disease. They offered my parents an operation with a cochlear implant in Lyon, which they accepted despite their concerns.
Since I was eight years old, after seeing “Fast and Furious 2” with Paul Walker, I knew I wanted to be an actor. My family laughed and called me “Brad Pitt”. I participated in plays at school and I loved it. Inspired by the series “Good Luck Charlie”, I asked my parents for a camera and made a short film with my cars, impressing my family who then called me “future director”.
During the lockdown in 2020, I was having fun with comedy videos on TikTok that I sent to my friends. At university, I went to the Performing Arts in Arras to become an actor. , I practiced on stage, but the theory was so difficult. I also participated in evening theaters. I saw a casting announcement for “INCONSCIENT” and I was selected, which made me very happy. A year later, I moved to Paris to create my own projects.
From a young age, I have been fascinated by the magic of the silver screen and the power of the stage. These arts allow me to express myself, tell captivating stories and connect with diverse audiences. I have participated in several film projects in French and English, developing my skills and working with talented directors. My journey includes varied roles that have helped me refine my craft and broaden my professional horizons.
